DCHS events from 2003

Sunday, December 21st, was our last fundraiser of 2003, at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall. We joined with the Forsyth County Humane Society near the Polo Store at the north end of the Mall. Forsyth was adopting pets for the Christmas holiday, and we were selling items (t-shirts, handbags, birdhouses, stockings, bandanas, and pet treat ingredients in a jar with a recipe) and handing out literature, looking for donations.  Pets wearing the collection saddlebags are our most productive fundraisers to date!  Thanks to our volunteers with crowd-friendly dogs and goats (Harry).  Click any picture to see it larger.

October 19 2003: Thanks to the Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club for having our tent and tables again this year at their dog show, at Thunder Road.  It was another beautiful day for a fundraiser. Once again, the Club did a silent auction for our benefit. The whole day netted us just over $300. This is a relatively small gathering of dedicated dog owners, and I believe this is a grand amount for the size of the event!

October 12 2003: Today was a huge success as we raised nearly $2800 at the Kangaroo Conservation Center. Thanks to Roger and Debbie Nelson for opening the doors to their center on a day that they are normally closed and for donating the entire entry fee for the special tour. Many volunteers assisted, directed, and appeared for the joy of taking the tour.  Click any picture below and join in the fun.

October 5 2003:
Bark In The Park
in Cumming Central Park, involved volunteers from the Forsyth and Dawson County Humane Societies.  Our president, Doc Mills, was one of the judges for contests such as "cutest dog" and "dog who most looks like its owner."  Click on any of the pictures below for a larger view.
